What’s up guys, welcome to my Substack.

I’m a self-taught home cook from London. Back in 2018, I started a food blog on Instagram (@notorious_foodie), documenting my exploration of the culinary world. Thousands of recipes and countless restaurants later, I figured it was time to give you a closer look at what I’m up to both in and out of the kitchen.

Whether it’s indulgent home cooking using the very best ingredients, or dining at the most talked about restaurants in town, you’ll find this and everything in between, right here on my Substack.

So, what are you going to get from me here on Substack?

Long-form recipes. I’ve received thousands of messages asking me to create long-form content that goes into much more detail than what you see on Instagram. Substack is where you’ll find it. Here I’ll dive deeper into the food, detailing not only the ingredients and kitchen tools that I use and recommend, but also the techniques and processes that I adopt, my inspiration behind the recipes and what to look for at each stage of the cook. It doesn’t take much to be a good home cook, but once you have a few key principles down, you can become a great one.

Restaurant talk. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I eat out a hell of a lot. Whether it’s at a hole-in-the-wall spot down a back alley in London or a 3-Michelin starred omakase in Japan, I’ll give you the run down on my honest thoughts, provide insider tips on bookings and the best dishes to order, as well as bring you with me into the kitchens with the chefs when I have the access. Hopefully this is a space that’ll help you shape up your itinerary on your next trip away, or give you ideas on where to go when you want to try somewhere new.

Behind the scenes. This is where I’ll write about everything outside of the more formal recipe and restaurant content. Things like my favourite new kitchen gadgets and tools, where I buy my produce, and what I make when I just can’t be bothered to cook. Lot’s of you have been asking for an active playlist too.. so maybe I’ll get that in here too.
